ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2020

Members in attendance: Kerry Murphy, Donna McKinney, Drew Dylan, Marc Cohen, Joyce Cutchins, Terence Mulligan. Staff Liaison absent. Guests Barry Palmer, Craig Tilley, Cole Mirenda, Ronny Mirenda, and Ken Patty were also in attendance.

CALL TO ORDER 6:04 pm

APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Terence Mulligan, Second by Drew Dylan, All in Favor

APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Kerry Murphy, Second by Joyce Cutchins, All in Favor

1. NEW BUSINESS
   1. Cole Mirenda – Eagle Scout Presentataion
      Arts Commission to take on as project (city has to sign off on it – Marc)

Estimated $670 budget – self-funded and donations
install dates (March 14 – April 30 mobile design so that it can be placed somewhere for Eagle Scout committee in case Trail spot is not yet available)
Barry Palmer to consult on aluminum construction
Cole to be sole presenter for project next appearance

1. Fill Kerry Murphy Post and Assign New Chair
   Kerry Murphy nominated Donna McKinney, Second by Drew Dylan, All in Favor
   Marc Cohen motions Vice-Chair nominations tabled till February meeting, Second by Drew Dylan, All in Favor

1. DISCUSSION
   1. Sugar Rush: Expand to 2-Day Event Consensus to support
      Marc Cohen expressed concern about vendor drops on day two of Peachtree Corners event
   2. Sugar Rush: Juried Art Show – Consensus to continue
      Terence Mulligan suggested placing notice in The Artist magazine for increased national exposure
   3. Photography Club – Ken Patty (guest of Marc Cohen), seeks gateway to local club
      Marc Cohen noted Arts Commission blessing would yield seminar space for ~6 months, with potential for sanctioned club at later date
