Notice is hereby given that an Election will be held in the City of Sugar Hill, Georgia, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Sugar Hill City Hall, 5039 West Broad Street, Sugar Hill, Georgia. The election is to fill the office of City Council Post #1 currently held by Mason Roszel, City Council Post #2 currently held by Marc Cohen, and City Council Post #3 currently held by Jenn Thatcher. The Council Posts serve the citizens at large but the candidate must declare which post they are running for upon qualification. Candidates must pay a Qualifying fee of $108.00 at the time of qualification. Qualifying will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, until Wednesday, August 23, 2023, between the hours of 8:30 am until 4:30 p.m. each day at City Hall, 5039 West Broad, Sugar Hill, Georgia, in the office of the City Clerk. You must reside within the City limits of Sugar Hill to vote in this election, and all such electors are encouraged to participate. The last day to register to vote in this election is October 10, 2023. Registration forms are available at City Hall, the Gwinnett County Elections Office and the website of the Georgia Secretary of State. Advance or Early Voting will be held October 16-21, 2023, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm; October 23-28, 2023 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm; and October 30 – November 3 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. A run-off election, if necessary, will be held December 5, 2023. All voting will be held at City Hall, 5039 West Broad Street, Sugar Hill, GA.
